More Than 3,000 Scientific Presentations to Choose From
Earn up to 31 CME credits through the Academy's premier scientific program, which offers more than 2,000 Academy peer-reviewed scientific presentations and 100 hours of free programming— plus the following PAAO offerings:

  • 1,000 scientific presentations of special interest to physicians practicing in the Western Hemisphere
  • 75 hours of free programming
  • 49 free symposia
  • 90 instruction courses
  • Up to 300 posters

These PAAO sessions will be conducted in Spanish and select symposia will be simultaneously interpreted into English.

Academy Receives Record Number of Abstracts for the 2009 Joint Meeting
This year's Joint Meeting with PAAO is shaping up to be an outstanding event. The Academy received a total of 2,160 paper/poster and 167 video abstract submissions for this year's Joint Meeting in San Francisco. These numbers surpass the 2,079 paper/poster and 177 video submissions that were received for the 2006 Joint Meeting in Las Vegas, which set a new record for attendance. On average, the Academy receives 1,400 paper/ poster abstracts and 150 video abstracts. Read the full press release.
