Mid-Year Forum

star Overview

The 2009 Mid-Year Forum was held from April 22 to 25 in Washington, D.C.

The Mid-Year Forum Report detailing the sessions is available (member login required).  View photos from the 2009 Mid-Year Forum.

This annual forum provides an opportunity for Academy leaders and leaders of allied ophthalmic organizations to identify and discuss critical issues facing ophthalmology. These leaders provide important contributions to the development of Academy policy. This is an important opportunity for you to not only provide input to the Academy, but also to learn more about Academy activities in order to provide up-to-date information to other Academy members and the constituents you represent for your state, subspecialty or specialized interest society

Congressional Advocacy Day
Advocacy Day 2009 was held April 22 to 23 in conjunction with the Mid-Year Forum. During Congressional Advocacy Day, Academy members were educated about legislative issues relevant to the Academy and the ophthalmic profession. Academy members met with their U.S. senators and representatives to present the concerns and positions of the Academy and the profession.

Council Meeting
The Council met in conjunction with the Mid-Year Forum from April 24 to 25.
